Job description

Firefighter Emergency Medical Technician

Company:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Firefighter Emergency Medical Technician to join the team in Berkeley, MO.

The Boeing Fire Department is the world's largest Industrial fire department. Boeing firefighters provide a safe working environment and are ready to respond to emergencies and disasters at our Boeing sites. The Boeing St. Louis Region has a diverse footprint with fire services supporting three sites. The St. Charles weapons Facility, St. Louis main manufacturing facility hosting F-15, F-18, T-7A, Phantom Works, and 777X, and Mascoutah, IL., supporting the MQ-25 program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Authors inspections; hot work control; fire protection systems configuration control; responding to and controlling all emergencies, including those involving Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), structures, equipment and vehicle fires, medical, hazardous material, and confined space rescue

  • Assists with Industrial Fire Brigade Emergency duties

  • Collaborates with government agencies; local, state and federal Fire Department; security and fire protection management; other company management and customer; vendors and suppliers

  • Supports work in a hazardous environment (e.g. high noise, vibrations, etc.)

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • State, IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter 2 certification

  • State, IFSAC or Proboard Hazmat Operations Level certification

  • Current National Registry or Missouri State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification

  • Current valid driver's license

  • 2 years' experience as a paid full-time Firefighter or any combination of 3 years' experience as a full-time, part time or volunteer Firefighter within the last 5 years

  • Ability to support 24 hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • High school graduate or GED

  • Associate degree in Fire Science

  • Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) certification

  • Hazardous Material Technician certification

Union:

This is an hourly position represented by the International Association of Firefighters, Local I-66.
