Job description

Environmental Test Engineer (Associate or Experienced)

Company:

The Boeing Company

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking an Environmental Test Technician (Associate or Experienced) to join our team in Berkeley, MO.

The Boeing Test & Evaluation Thermal Test Engineering Labs support various defense, space and commercial programs. There are several areas of Environmental Test performed at this location which include: Acoustics, Airflow, Altitude, Dynamics, Fluids, Hypersonics, Pressure, Temperature, Thermal Management Systems and Vibration. In this role, the selected candidate will assist in the instrumentation of test articles, organization of labs and manage the testing plans and procedures.

  • Aircraft Sub-System Testing: Environmental Control Systems, and Fuel Systems.
  • T-58 engine, Arc-Jet Testing: Unique Test Capability, High Temperature Testing
  • Thermal Testing: Environmental Chamber operation and test setup.
  • Dynamics: Fixed base vibration testing and Ground Based Vibration Testing.


This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems.
  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down.
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results.
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
  • Works under general supervision.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associate's degree or higher
  • Experience working with electronics and/or mechanical systems in design fabrication and test

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems
