BME is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our growing team. This role is vital to supporting our expanding customer base by delivering exceptional service, technical precision, and dependable performance. You'll diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems while building lasting relationships with our customers through excellent communication and workmanship.

Main Duties:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, DX equipment, fan systems, and refrigeration units.
  • Perform routine service, maintenance, and warranty work to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Track and document work performed, including obtaining purchase orders and completing service reports.
  • Travel to customer locations to provide on-site service and repairs.

Secondary Duties:

  • Train apprentices and junior technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service recommendations and system performance.
  • Assist in ordering necessary parts and materials for repairs and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Ability to carry and climb a ladder up to 28'.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • EPA license.
  • OSHA 10 certification (minimum).
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, including troubleshooting and repairing various systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including chillers, DX equipment, boilers, refrigeration, and basic controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with chillers.
  • Control/BAS experience.
  • KY Journeyman License (or ability to obtain).
