Estimator Role

Providing an accurate estimate of costs and timing of the work, clarifying unclear scope items and other issues that come from the specifications and drawing, citing the risks and gray areas of the scope and working with the sales team on the appropriate bid to submit.

• Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
• Review and quote a high volume of quote requests.
• Contact customers to go through any applicable questions about the project needs.
• Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
• Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
• Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.
• Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
• Learn casework and fume hood specifications, accessories and details to assist vendors, architects and end users

Education & Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Associates degree or above is required.

Estimating experience in Construction preferred

• Ability to read blueprint construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read prints to prepare take-offs/estimates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe PDF.
• Outstanding and professional oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and is detail oriented.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Follow-up with customers to close on opportunities.
