Summary
The Local Marketing & Communications Manager will serve as Blue Man Group Orlando's primary marketing representative in the Orlando market, acting as the key liaison between the local community, strategic partners, and Blue Man Group's marketing team. Working closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications and broader marketing team, this position is responsible for driving local awareness, community engagement, partnerships, public relations, and promotional initiatives that support ticket sales and strengthen Blue Man Group's presence within the Orlando market.
This role requires a highly motivated, creative, and resourceful individual who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and turning ideas into action. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Orlando tourism, attractions, entertainment, and business communities, while also understanding the local resident market and consumer behavior. They will be passionate about connecting Blue Man Group with audiences through strategic partnerships, grassroots initiatives, media engagement, and community involvement.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Sales Support
  • Serve as the local marketing lead for Blue Man Group Orlando, developing and executing initiatives that drive awareness, attendance, and ticket sales.

  • Work closely with Sales, Box Office, Operations, and Show teams to support revenue-generating initiatives and achieve sales objectives.

  • Identify opportunities to increase day-of, short-term, and advance ticket sales through targeted promotions, partnerships, activations, and local marketing efforts.

  • Collaborate with the ICON Park team and neighboring businesses to maximize Blue Man Group's visibility and presence within the destination.

  • Execute local marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives in alignment with Blue Man Group brand standards and overall business objectives.

  • Assist in the development, production, and execution of marketing materials, promotions, events, and campaigns across multiple channels.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of local marketing efforts and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.

  • Continually seek innovative opportunities to increase visibility, awareness, attendance, and sales performance within the Orlando market.

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Serve as the marketing lead in partnership with the Sales team across key relationships with local tourism organizations, attractions, hotels, concierge programs, business associations, chambers of commerce, arts organizations, community groups, and other strategic partners.

  • Work closely with Visit Orlando and other tourism stakeholders to identify opportunities that increase awareness, visitation, and ticket sales.

  • Identify, develop, negotiate, and execute local marketing partnerships, promotions, and cross-promotional opportunities that support revenue growth and brand awareness.

  • Represent Blue Man Group at networking events, industry functions, community events, trade gatherings, and other local opportunities.

  • Develop and execute grassroots marketing initiatives that increase visibility and engagement throughout Central Florida.

  • Identify opportunities to engage both visitors and local residents, helping to drive attendance year-round and mitigate seasonal fluctuations in tourism.

Public Relations & Communications
  • Coordinate local public relations and media relations efforts in partnership with Blue Man Group's communications team and external PR agency partners.

  • Assist with media outreach, story development, press opportunities, artist appearances, and community relations initiatives.

  • Coordinate media visits, influencer visits, VIP experiences, and special events.

  • Support the preparation and distribution of press materials, media assets, artist biographies, press releases, and related communications materials.

  • Serve as a local spokesperson and ambassador for Blue Man Group when appropriate.

Social Media & Content Development
  • Collaborate with show teams and corporate marketing partners to identify and develop local content opportunities.

  • Assist in the creation and execution of social media content that highlights Blue Man Group's connection to Orlando and the local community.

  • Identify local influencers, content creators, and community partners who can help expand awareness and engagement.

Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal departments, external partners, agencies, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear communication and strong attention to detail.

  • Continually manage expectations of partners, senior management, and internal departments through clear, concise communication.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Head of Marketing & Communications and the General Manager of Blue Man Group Orlando.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.

  • Five or more years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, tourism, attractions, entertainment, hospitality, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of the Orlando and Central Florida tourism, attractions, entertainment, and business landscape, with an understanding of both visitor and local resident audiences.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique dynamics of the Orlando market and the ability to develop strategies that appeal to both tourists and local residents.

  • Existing relationships within the Orlando market, including tourism, hospitality, media, business, arts, or community organizations, strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success building partnerships, executing community engagement initiatives, and driving awareness, attendance, or ticket sales.

  • Exceptional networking, relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Experience working collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and current digital marketing trends.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and special events as business needs require.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience marketing live entertainment, attractions, performing arts, tourism, hospitality, or destination-based experiences.

  • Experience working with local media, influencers, community leaders, and tourism organizations.

  • Proven success driving attendance, ticket sales, visitation, or consumer engagement.

  • Familiarity with the International Drive corridor, Orlando attractions market, and Central Florida tourism ecosystem.
