Job description

As a Data Engineer you will primarily collaborate closely with our clients leading global persondge fund on data engagements. Partner with data strategy and sourcing team on data requirements to design data pipelines and delivery structures.
Location: New York
100% Onsite
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and internal teams (data sourcing, engineering, and QRs) to backfill historical market data and security master data (many thousands of tickers, across decades)
  • Write data loaders, bring in data, run DQ checks on data, and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve DQ checks
  • Implement best practices for data quality, consistency, and governance across various data sources and systems.
  • Implement best practices in Data Engineering to drive innovation and enhance our platform as we scale.
  • Manage day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Competencies
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Material experience working with market and security master data at scale (thousands of tickers, decades of data) to identify issues and propose and implement systematic solutions
  • 5+ year of Python scripting experience
  • Academic degree in quantitative field (e.g., Math, Computer Science)
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving capabilities; detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with numerous stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Bloomberg / Eikon Terminals
