Job Overview

We are hiring a Block Plant Laborer to support daily operations at a concrete block manufacturing facility in Fishkill, NY. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that plays an important part in maintaining a safe, clean, and productive plant environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Block Plant Laborer Responsibilities:

  • Perform general plant and equipment cleanup, including removal of raw materials and routine housekeeping
  • Lift, move, and stack concrete blocks weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Assist with material handling and support production operations as needed
  • Operate a forklift when required (prior experience preferred)
  • Support basic maintenance or mechanical tasks under supervision
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area

Qualifications, Experience & Work Environment:

  • Ability to perform continuous physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving concrete blocks weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and loud noise
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks involving gripping, grasping, and fine motor skills
  • Forklift experience preferred; ability to become authorized to operate a forklift required
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience assisting with maintenance tasks is a plus
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled hours, including early mornings and Saturdays
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced plant environment
  • Must follow dress code requirements, including steel-toe boots, jeans, and a solid-color shirt
