Job description

Forklift Operator

Titan Florida has an excellent opportunity for a Forklift Operator for its Mangonia Block manufacturing division. Under the direction of the plant manager, shift supervisor and/or other designated lead personnel the Forklift Operator assists customers in selecting the inventory needed, loads delivery trucks and follows established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Operate fork truck inside or outside plant, placing racks, emptying debris containers, and assisting others in overall plant operations.
  • Maintain work area in clean and hazard free condition per housekeeping standards.
  • Must be able to assist with all duties and responsibilities of utility person.
  • Properly set & remove product racks from conveyor without damaging finished product or racks.
  • Load pallet block injectors with wood or concrete block without damaging equipment or product.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand the basic operating cycle of the (block machine, front end, car & crawler, batcher, cuber, and mixers) per OEM equipment manuals.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required or directed such as:
  • Proper startup and shutdown of the block machine.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of machinery
  • Immediately report to supervisor any abnormal product or equipment issues.
  • Clean mixer and hoppers and other production equipment.
  • Ensure all material feed hoppers are checked every 2 hours for buildup and cleaned if necessary.
  • Reporting fork truck malfunctions, complete daily pre-shift inspection, perform simple fork truck maintenance tasks such as checking fluid and fuel levels.
  • Safe and proficient operation of a front-end loader for plant cleanup and loading aggregate bins as required.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate fork trucks and receive a certification on the same.
  • Basic computer skills to operate machine control panels with electronic switches.
  • Use, read and understand rulers and tape measures for measuring product specifications.
  • Read, write, and speak English as required by safety standards and job expectations.
  • Basic math skills, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing and averaging, to track discarded material and calculate block quantities to build programs.
  • Possess professional Interpersonal skills to understand and communicate with all team members. Ability to work with others as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to learn the basic operation of production equipment.

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting, and crawling at least 50% of shift. Requires standing 75% of shift (Based on 8–10-hour shift).
  • Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet.
  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 7 feet to access material hoppers and equipment platforms.
  • Work in a facility with seasonal temperatures ranging from 25° to 100° F.
