The Company

Hallcon is a transportation and related infrastructure services company that serves clients such as technology companies, manufacturers, railroads, universities, corporate business parks, hospitals, airports, public transportation networks and more.

Hallcon provides essential services spanning multi-modal operations, integrated command centers, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, technology integration, analytics, business intelligence, fleet management, specialty cleaning, and overall rider experience performance.  We are inviting the right leader to join our team and help us drive rapid growth.

The Role

As an EV Infrastructure Services Specialist, you will ensure that Hallcon’s network of electric vehicle charging stations operates at peak reliability. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) platforms — including Level 2 and DC fast chargers — from multiple manufacturers including ABB and ChargePoint. This role is ideal for technically adept individuals who thrive on problem-solving, enjoy working in the field, and want to contribute to growing our EV infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all electrical safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks at charging sites to ensure a safe environment for technicians, employees, and customers, and maintain compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical, hardware, and software issues using tools, manuals, and diagnostic software. Interpret OCPP fault codes and other manufacturer-specific alerts to resolve issues quickly.
  • Software & Hardware Updates / Cross-Platform Expertise: Ensure all EVSE are running the latest firmware and software. Configure station settings to meet customer specifications and support firmware/software upgrades, network configuration, and integration across multiple EVSE brands (ChargePoint, BYD, ABB, Blink, etc.).
  • Station Cleanliness & Safety: Keep stations clean and visually inspect for any potential safety hazards (e.g., water ingress, damaged cables).
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Submit reports using the company’s internal software platform.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Use cloud-based systems and internal platforms to log repairs, maintenance, and operational data. Provide actionable feedback on recurring issues.
  • Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries related to charging station performance and assist with on-site technical issues as needed.
  • Manage logistics: Make travel arrangements for site visits and emergency repairs across the region.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and engineering team to provide feedback on trends or recurring issues to help improve the overall quality of service.

Qualifications

  • CA Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • Minimum of two years hands-on experience in electrical systems and experience with EVSE required
  • Preferred Certifications: OEM certifications from ABB and ChargePoint, and EVITP certification, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Proven experience with multiple EVSE brands; able to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
  • Strong knowledge of OCPP fault codes, diagnostics, and networked charging systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills - working with customers directly, resolving issues and providing excellent service.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Computer and Software Skills, comfort in using cloud-based tools, mobile apps, or computer software for data logging and reporting.
  • Interest in the EV Industry, a strong desire to work in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle sector.

We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, exceptional growth potential and stability, all within a professional, yet casual work environment.
