Chemical Plant Operator
Location: Medina, OH
Schedule: Weeknights (Monday – Thursday) | 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Position Type: Full-Time -Direct Hire
Salary: $24/hr + 10% Shift Differential - $26.40/hr

Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Chemical Plant Operator will support manufacturing activities at the company’s primary facility in Medina, OH. This position is responsible for assisting with mixing/blending materials, operating process equipment, recording production data, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The operator must follow all Standard Operating Procedures and comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental guidelines always.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with mixing and blending of raw materials.
  • Fill, label, and prepare drums/totes and other bulk containers.
  • Operate process equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with unloading rail cars and tank wagons.
  • Operate a forklift to stage and move materials (training available if needed).
  • Complete production and quality control reporting accurately and on time.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in production and storage areas.
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts and inventory checks.
  • Follow all safety procedures including use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals (MSDS knowledge).
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s Degree a plus).
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience (chemical plant environment preferred).
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Must be able to work night shift and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment (inside and outside conditions).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull heavy drums (up to 440+ lbs with assist).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
