Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team! You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will be assessing and designing modular buildings and other structures, estimating costs and developing proposals based on RFQs, and acting as the Project Manager from Contract to Manufacturing and Installation of the buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designs modular external and in-plant buildings and other structures.
  • Estimates costs and produces customer quotes.
  • Analyzes suitable configurations of basic structural components and elements that control the building environment based on customer specifications.
  • Considers the strength and other capabilities of various construction as well as proprietary engineered materials to optimize building solutions.
  • Communicates the design of structures through drawings, specifications and models.
  • Interacts with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire detection and suppression, network and security system subcontractors.
  • Interacts with PE, ballistic and blast engineers, architects, and general contractors.
  • Communicates with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities :
  • Read blueprints, computer-generated reports, and technical schematics to determine specifications.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD or other 3D software to create mockups and examples.
  • Consult on every aspect of product creation, from design to development, manufacturing, and testing.
Qualifications:
  • Four-year college degree preferably in mechanical engineering or structural engineering.
  • One year of design experience/internship/co-ops in building construction preferred.
  • Solid understanding of estimating principles, measures, and concepts to compile bid proposals and handle contractual agreements in a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD and SOLIDWORKS software.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Good team working skills.
