This role is for our Express Clinic at our King-Lincoln location. The hours for this Clinic are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12-6pm,Additional hours Monday-Thursday/3pm-9pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to provide direct and indirect patient care services in order to meet the needs of Equitas Health patients. Provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and able to perform general medical assistant duties under the supervision of licensed health care professionals and within the scope of practice.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Prepare exam rooms for patient visits by sterilizing and cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies.
โ€ข Room patients, obtain vitals, and update basic health information in electronic health records (EHR).
โ€ข Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests.
โ€ข Assists provider with exams.
โ€ข Performs basic lab tests such as phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
โ€ข Prepares and administers medications with provider authorization.
โ€ข Log all medications administered in appropriate logs, ensuring that all are accounted for against proper inventory accounts.
โ€ข Practices OSHA safety standards.
โ€ข Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
โ€ข Document all care provided and interactions with patients in the EHR.
โ€ข Review and complete daily tasks such as scanning, completing referral requests, answering phones, prior authorizations and handling medical records requests as requested by nursing management.
โ€ข Process patient referrals for specialty care and follow-up, as needed, to ensure quality specialty care was provided.
โ€ข Work in a collaborative manner with medical case managers to ensure that patient paperwork is completed.
โ€ข Provide follow-up phone calls to clients or other professionals as needed.
โ€ข Comply with the Equitas Health Care Corporate Compliance Standards of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
โ€ข Participate in other agency meetings as requested by supervisor including continuous quality improvement committee meetings.
โ€ข Demonstrate unconditional positive regard to clients and conduct all aspects of job responsibilities with a focus on exceptional customer service.
โ€ข Demonstrate excellent work ethics and communication skills
โ€ข Continuously grow and develop cultural competency, exhibiting an understanding, awareness, and respect for diversity.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
โ€ข Completion of Medical Assistant Program
โ€ข An active CMA or RMA licensure.
โ€ข Phlebotomy certification preferred.
โ€ข Certification in CPR/BLS.
โ€ข A high school diploma or GED is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข One year or greater experience as a Medical Assistant required
โ€ข One year or greater experience in phlebotomy preferred.
โ€ข Experience working in electronic health records is required. Epic experience preferred.
โ€ข Ability to work Saturdays.
โ€ข Exemplary customer service as well as written and verbal communication skills.
โ€ข Must have sensitivity to, interest in, and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, chemical dependency, and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, and the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community.
โ€ข Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and other computer applications required.
โ€ข Reliable transportation, driver's license, and proof of auto insurance required.
