Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and coordinates the childrenโ€™s birthday party program. Identifies and helps develop process improvements for the program.
  • Books, plans and schedules birthday parties, space and staff. Collects payments for activity participation.
  • Trains and provides guidance to Birthday Party Hosts. As backup, performs duties of Birthday Party Host.
  • Ensures safety practices are followed, and administers First Aid and CPR when needed.
  • Provides customer service by responding to customer inquiries about the program via phone, in person and via email.
  • During parties, greets guests, resolves issues, and provides direction to staff. Ensures facility cleanliness is maintained. Requests maintenance repairs and cleaning in coordination with the maintenance department.
  • Orders and purchases supplies.
  • Track birthday parties with various monthly reports, including but not limited to profit and loss statements, birthday party annual report and pricing adjustments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.


    Education: ย High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    Experience:ย 6 months to 1 year experience in working with children; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    Licenses and/or Certifications Required:ย CPR and First Aid Certifications are required (which can be obtained at the Recreation Center) or ability to attain within 30 days of hire. A valid Driver's License is required.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of principles and practices in working with children.
    • Skill in providing guidance to and instructing others.
    • Skill in both written and oral communications for effective expression and clarity.
    • Skill in interacting with participants and their parents/caregivers
    • Skill in performing CPR and first aid.
    • Knowledge and familiarity in various computer systems (MS Office)
    • Some knowledge in Point of Sale software/systems
    • Ability to address parents and caregivers with tact and courtesy.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established Town policies and procedures.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, participants, caregivers, and parents.
    • Ability to drive and have reliable transportation to get to all facilities managed by this position.

    Physical Demands:

    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing
    • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
    • Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment
    • Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information
    • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens

    Work Environment:

    • Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment

    Equipment Used:
