Pay Range: $25.57 per hour
Position Overview
The Birthday Party Coordinator, acting under the general direction of the Participant Development Manager, performs and plans the essential party planning activities and manages party staff according to established standards. The coordinator will make sure the birthday person, family and guests have a memorable experience in a manner that gives special recognition to the birthday party child which promotes our birthday program to all attendees.
Shift Information:
  • Shifts are primarily Friday - Sunday
  • Shift time varies per business needs.
  • Occasional holidays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organizes and develops all aspects of birthday parties, including but not limited to, contacting interested individuals, booking reservations, ordering necessary supplies (including food and beverage) and working with vendors to ensure optimal amounts of food and supplies are on hand.
  • Create individual party agendas within the framework of the party program including any special requests.
  • Conduct pre-party briefing with Party Captains to review timeline and schedule details (party area setup details, guest arrivals, party area games, off ice activities, public skate activities, food serving details, party departure and clean up).
  • Attends birthday parties, supervises staff, leads example by providing excellent customer service.
  • Develops and creates birthday parties to include collateral materials (i.e. fliers and forms, website content, supplies, etc.).
  • Maintains records and prepares reports on birthday party program activities in accordance with given budget.
  • Provides marketing along with the Participant Development Manager to promote the business of birthday parties through established methods (i.e., website, database etc.).
  • Promotes and markets birthday business available (i.e., print, website, in-arena, tabling etc.)
  • Leads and directs staff for efficient and professional party execution.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains Party Captains; conducts ongoing training to ensure the highest levels of service and creativity.
  • Responsible for all party scheduling and food coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skating experience preferred.
  • Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
  • Ability to possess dependable transportation.
  • Able to pass a background check with the State of California.
  • Ability to work under general supervision.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability and experience to lead and supervise others.
  • People person who enjoys working with children, families, and the public in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
  • May be required to travel to other company locations
  • May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
