Job description

Birdi Systems, Inc. (BSI) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across a growing, fast-paced organization. This role is ideal for an HR professional looking to expand their experience in recruiting, compliance, employee relations, payroll support, benefits administration, and HR operations.

You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to help maintain a positive, compliant, and employee-focused workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Support HR compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws (including CA, FL, MD, CO, VA, PA, NJ, and SC)
  • Assist with HR policies, procedures, audits, and employee record management
  • Maintain accurate data within HRIS, payroll, and workforce management systems

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruiting, interview scheduling, onboarding, and new hire orientation
  • Support hiring efforts to ensure alignment with company culture and compliance standards

Payroll, Benefits & Employee Support

  • Assist with payroll processing, timesheet reviews, and expense reporting
  • Help administer employee benefits programs, including healthcare and 401(k)
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace matters

Employee Development & Engagement

  • Support training initiatives, performance review processes, and employee engagement activities
  • Assist with workforce planning and organizational development efforts

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with internal departments including Accounting, Operations, and remote/international teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • PHR and/or SHRM certification preferred
  • 2–4 years of HR experience or relevant internships
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and employment law compliance
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations activities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
