Perform basic laboratory and record-keeping tasks to support site operations.

Job Description

This is a Full Time (40 hours/week) Temp Position (6 months to 1 year)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
⦁    Clean and sanitize hallways, labs, and test article preparation rooms.
⦁    May be responsible for preparing simple lab solutions (ex. Bleach) 
⦁    Monitor and maintain inventory of assigned areas (ex. PPE Stations, Hazard waste boxes, glassware, etc).
⦁    Order supplies for the lab and departments (ex. cleaning supplies, glassware, etc)
⦁    Pickup and deliver packages from receiving in a timely manner.
⦁    Assist with melting wax, printing labels for specimen collection.
⦁    Operate basic lab equipment and perform routine maintenance, as needed. 
⦁    Perform all tasks in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
⦁    Submit Work Orders for equipment or facility issues.
⦁    Prep cages, glassware and supplies for autoclaving.
⦁    Perform Pest Control checks of areas and document as per SOP.
⦁    Perform test article and control article discards under a fume hood.
⦁    Assist with the receipt and documentation of feed and bedding.
⦁    Perform and document weekly eye wash checks.
⦁    Assist in the breakdown and setup of study rooms.
⦁    Perform weekly census of animals.
⦁    Collaborate with technical staff in Operations, Pathology and Lab Sciences.
⦁    Assist in the archiving of non-study/study/ facility data (ex. cage wash forms).
⦁    Assist with clerical duties (ex. filing, making copies, etc.).
⦁    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is between $17.00 an hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

QUALIFICATIONS:
⦁    Education:  High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
⦁    Experience:  None
⦁    Certification/Licensure:  None
⦁    Other:  Must be detail-oriented and have general familiarity with lab procedures.  Good verbal communication skills required. Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
