About the Company

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to contribute to our existing Biotech team and build and scale a new MedTech vertical to lead within our Investor Relations practice. This role is pivotal in shaping strategy, driving growth, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture across the vertical and the broader team. The ideal candidate combines deep Biotech and MedTech expertise, entrepreneurial experience in life sciences, and exceptional leadership capabilities to inspire teams and deliver best-in-class counsel to clients. This role reflects the leadership standards of top-tier IR advisory firms, where strategic partnership, capital markets fluency, and client-first culture are paramount.

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to contribute to our existing Biotech team and build and scale a new MedTech vertical to lead within our Investor Relations & External Communications practice.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the MedTech vertical.
  • Establish operational frameworks, service models, and foundational collateral to launch and scale the practice.
  • Shape the strategic direction of the vertical in alignment with broader agency goals.
  • Act as a resident MedTech IR expert and thought leader, contributing to industry dialogue and positioning the agency as a trusted advisor.
  • Manage and contribute to operational, growth and strategy initiatives.
  • Proactively generate ideas and identify opportunities for the firm and for clients.

Business Development & Market Positioning

  • Prepare marketing and new business materials, and identify and pitch new business opportunities, contributing to firm growth and client diversification.
  • Leverage a robust network of stakeholders to accelerate inbound opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with investors, analysts, and bankers to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and investor forums and in social media and speaking engagements.

Client Advisory & Content Excellence

  • Directly manage a portfolio of 7-10 Biotech and MedTech clients, developing and implementing customized IR strategies and ensuring exceptional service delivery and strategic impact.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior executives on investor engagement, messaging, and market positioning.
  • Develop high-impact content including investor presentations, press releases, earnings scripts, and thought leadership.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.

Team Building & Mentorship

  • Manage a team of junior staff.
  • Train and mentor a high-performing team aligned with our collaborative and purpose-driven culture; oversee its growth.
  • Foster professional growth and uphold principles of client service, accountability, mutual respect, and teamwork.
  • Lead by example, balancing competitive drive with a spirit of collaboration and integrity.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive profitability and operational efficiency across the vertical.
  • Implement performance metrics and best practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Manage client engagements, retainers, budgeting and ensure accuracy of invoicing - 75% utilization target for client billing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize resource allocation and client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Investor Relations, with a strong focus on Biotech, MedTech, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects from conception to completion on deadline in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven success in agency or consulting environments, with experience launching or scaling new business lines.
  • Deep network within the investment community and Biotech/MedTech ecosystem.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills; high standards of quality control.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within a leadership team and manage a team.
  • Confident writer and presenter, comfortable in a variety of C-Suite scenarios, with ability to influence.
  • Competent in technology-driven environments, including AI and various tools and platforms.
  • Independent and collaborative; resourceful problem solver, quick learner.
  • Committed to the success and growth of the entire team.
  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • MBA or CFA preferred.
