The Software Verification Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the products meet defined exit criteria and that our development practices are followed. The candidate will leverage their past experience with Mass Spectrometers, and scientific background to plan and conduct all levels of verification against our software products within an agile team of designers and developers. The ideal candidate is an individual who is passionate about product development & quality, always searching for ways to ferret out critical issues that most others would not consider. The candidate will use the provided test tools and agile processes to assist developers, ensure that the products work as expected and manage the tools, frameworks and verification environments. In addition to software verification, this position will also require the candidate to conduct elicitation and documentation of software requirements, use cases and specifications.

This position reports to the Software Development and Verification Manager and is part of the Software Department located in Concord, Canada and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Verify that our software products fullymeetrequirements
  • Plansoftware verificationin accordance withproject scope and software requirements
  • Clearly document and communicate issues found during testing tofacilitatecorrective action by developers and/or designers.
  • Create,maintainand executemanual and automation test cases
  • Review and helpelucidate softwarerequirements

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • College Dip. / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Minimum2years ofdirectexperienceinLC-MS/MS
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience in software development and testing
  • Experience/knowledge of agile software development processes is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with both Desktop and Cloud software development and testing is highly preferred.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in elicitation and documentation of software requirements, use cases and specifications
