Job description

Head of Talent AcquisitionAbout you:

The Head of Talent Acquisition will build VitalBio's talent acquisition function from the ground up, shaping the team, systems, and searches that bring the right people into our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is just as comfortable architecting scalable TA infrastructure as they are personally running a search for a critical hire.

You care about the craft of recruiting. You're plugged into where talent acquisition is heading, from AI-accelerated sourcing to how great companies build candidate experience, and you're energized by the challenge of building something new rather than maintaining something that already exists.

What you'll do:
  • Lead and grow a small talent acquisition team, setting direction, coaching recruiters, and building the processes that scale with the business.

  • Design and implement TA infrastructure, including intake processes, interview frameworks, sourcing strategy, ATS workflows, and hiring manager partnership models.

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for VitalBio's most strategic and senior roles, working directly with executive stakeholders.

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and clinical leaders to understand hiring needs and build tailored recruiting strategies for each function.

  • Build the employer brand and candidate experience that reflects VitalBio's mission and culture.

  • Track and report on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and hiring plan progress.

  • Bring a point of view on where talent acquisition is heading and evolve VitalBio's approach accordingly.

What you need:
  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including demonstrated experience building or scaling a talent acquisition function.

  • Experience leading and coaching a recruiting team.

  • A willingness to run searches while also building for scale.

  • Passion for recruitment as a craft, and curiosity about how technology is changing the field.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with senior leaders and hiring managers.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.

Bonus points:
  • Recruiting experience in engineering, technical, or manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in medical devices, diagnostics, biotech, or another regulated, high-growth industry.

  • Experience using Teamtailor.

Why Join Us?At VitalBio, you will:
  • Build the talent function behind a company bringing point-of-care diagnostics to market, with direct executive visibility and the mandate to build TA from the ground up.

  • Join a team that values trust, agility, and ownership.

The salary range for this position is $140,000–$180,000 CAD annually. Compensation will be determined based on the individual's demonstrated experience, education, training, relevant certifications or licensure, and other applicable business and organizational factors.
