Job description

Overview

Located in Port Jefferson, the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital combines advanced clinical expertise with a longstanding commitment to compassionate care. The campus has earned both a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade "A" and a CMS 5-Star Quality Rating and is known for its excellence in Maternal/Child Services, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Bariatric Surgery, and Emergency Care.

At Catholic Health, we believe that recovery begins with the desire to change and that individuals who want to change can achieve success with support. Drug and alcohol rehabilitation services are offered through St. Charles Campus's Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation program. The program is for adults age 18 and over, is voluntary, and is designed to promote recovery. Our program utilizes various approaches to achieve recovery goals including cognitive restructuring, relapse prevention training, affect regulation, wellness concepts, and 12-step principles. Depending on the individual treatment plan, care may address biomedical conditions, emotional and behavioral health syndromes, co-existing psychiatric disorders, and family, work, and community concerns. The ultimate goal of treatment is to minimize the possibility of relapse and maximize each patient's ability to live without the use of addictive substances.

Job Details

Our Chemical Dependency (Alcohol/Drug Rehab) RNs:

  • Assess, monitor, administer medication, document progress, and manage overall care for patients in rehabilitation and recovery
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Chemical Dependency/Addictions Nursing    
  • 1+ Years working RN experience strongly preferred  
  • Previous RN experience working with psychiatric, addictions, or med-surg patient populations preferred
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
    •  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required  
Posted Salary RangeUSD $54.97 - USD $64.20 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
