Vaccines & Prophylactics Programmatic & Technical Advisor

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Vaccines and Prophylactics Programmatic and Technical Advisor to support multiple vaccine-related innovation programs. The ideal candidate will have an advanced training in immunology or pharmacology or other related disciplines and experience managing vaccines and prophylactics development programs and thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and program execution and is motivated to accelerate the development of life-saving medical countermeasures.

As part of our team, you'll work with world-class scientists, technical experts, and public health professionals to support enabling technologies. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success. Our client supports the advanced research and development (R&D) of medical countermeasures (MCMs) to protect Americans and respond to 21st-century national health security threats. They employ a comprehensive portfolio approach to address the public health consequences of CBRN events, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.

What You'll Work On:

  • Partner with a Project Officer to design, execute, and manage complex R&D programs aligned with the mission.
  • Help shape strategy, define technical direction, and operationalize programs from concept through execution.
  • Provide feedback on drug development approaches including research and development plans as well as regulatory and clinical strategies.
  • Participate in Market Research efforts.
  • Conduct deep landscape analyses, including literature, market, and stakeholder engagement, to identify emerging technologies, gaps, opportunities and potential players.
  • Translate insights into actionable program strategies and funding priorities.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of program management, including acquisition package development, topic development, proposal evaluation, contract oversight, and performance monitoring across a portfolio of performers.
  • Provide scientific and technical insight across a portfolio of innovations focused on improving national health security.
  • Perform additional duties related to programmatic support for MCM as assigned.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in biological or chemical sciences, life sciences, clinical studies, pharmaceutical industry regulatory affairs, quality assurance, quality control positions, clinical trials, or epidemiological research
  • Experience in program or project management within a scientific, engineering, or biomedical field
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of vaccine and prophylactics development or early-stage biomedical product development
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Master's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, a Life Science field such as Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology, or a Physical Science field such as Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in early-stage biomedical product development
  • Experience with U.S. government health organizations
  • Knowledge of the health security and medical countermeasure innovation ecosystem
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and develop technical documents and presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively across various stages of their lifecycle with minimal oversight
  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced environment and maintain diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing
  • Doctorate degree in Biological Science, Chemical Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Science, Physical Science, Biomedical Science, or Bioengineering field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $128,700.00 to $292,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
