Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Technician, you will support environmental remediation projects including mold remediation, asbestos abatement, biohazard cleanup, and other environmental services. This position plays a critical role in restoring properties to a safe condition while maintaining strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and SERVPRO® standards.

In this role, you will also:

  • Assist with mold remediation, asbestos abatement, biohazard cleanup, and environmental restoration projects
  • Construct and maintain containment systems, critical barriers, and negative air environments
  • Safely remove, package, transport, and dispose of contaminated materials following company procedures and applicable regulations
  • Perform demolition activities associated with remediation and environmental projects
  • Operate HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, negative air machines, dehumidifiers, and other specialized equipment
  • Complete detailed cleaning and decontamination procedures in affected areas
  • Inventory, load, unload, and maintain vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Document project progress through photos, notes, and required job documentation
  • Maintain clear communication with Crew Chiefs, Project Managers, and customers throughout the remediation process
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, state, local, and SERVPRO® safety requirements
  • Support emergency response efforts for environmental losses and catastrophic events
  • Assist with warehouse organization and equipment readiness

Schedule

  • Environmental Technicians support a 24/7/365 emergency response operation
  • Work schedules vary based on project demands, emergency service needs, and on-call assignments
  • Evening, weekend, holiday, and after-hours work may be required
  • Overtime opportunities are common due to emergency response and project schedules
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to emergency service requests are essential for success in this role

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check (subject to applicable law)
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces or at ceiling heights for extended periods
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and demolition activities
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and jobsite environments

Preferred

  • Previous mold remediation, asbestos abatement, environmental services, demolition, restoration, or construction experience
  • Experience operating HEPA filtration and negative air equipment
  • Mold Remediation Worker Certification
  • Asbestos Worker Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience driving large trucks and/or towing trailers
