Job description

Position Overview

Connected Technologies Account Executive – part of Johnson Controls’ Building Wide Systems Integration (BWSI) solutions business. In this role you will sell integrated low‑voltage technology solutions, such as Building Automation (BAS), Security, Fire, IT, AV, to C‑level executives, owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors for new construction and renovation projects.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Connected Technologies Sales Manager and manage sales of large‑volume, integrated solutions to contractors and consultants.
  • Promote the JCI value proposition to executive‑level contractors and security consultants by providing comprehensive technology solutions.
  • Build and manage long‑term customer relationships with key general contractors, architects, and engineering principals.
  • Actively pursue contacts with non‑key and target owners for security construction opportunities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and manage the full sales process to qualify and close new opportunities.
  • Utilize sales tools to plan, document progress, and increase business opportunities.
  • Leverage monthly checkpoints to gain progressive commitments and expand depth and breadth of offerings.
  • Select customer pursuit teams for major opportunities by combining members from outside and inside the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus.
  • 5–7years of progressive field sales experience at the C‑level.
  • Minimum3years’ experience in building technologies or construction industry.
  • Construction industry knowledge and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency in cold‑calling owners, architects, consultants, and contractors to create new business opportunities.
  • Experience assessing building technology needs and designing turnkey security solutions.
  • Knowledge of traditional plan & spec bid or design‑build markets.
  • Ability to influence market at key levels and travel up to 50% of the time.
Salary & Benefits

Hiring salary range: $130,000 – $165,000 USD per year (determined by experience, education, and market data). Competitive base salary, comprehensive bonus program, and benefits package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision care (available day one), paid vacation, holidays, sick time, PTO, and employee discount programs.
