Job description

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering a comprehensive heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and cosmetic services. Sinai-Grace’s joint replacement program features a revolutionary minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery that attracts patients from all over the country. Sinai-Grace operates more than 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties and is one of 10 hospitals in the nation to be awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set the standards of cardiac care for hospitals and physicians throughout the nation.

Job Summary

Under supervision, performs general duties which include, but are not limited to, equipment set up; preventive maintenance; repair and inspection of various biomedical and non-clinical equipment to assure electrical safety and efficient operation within technical guidelines and manufacturer's specifications. 

Basic biomedical/electromechanical equipment includes, but is not limited to: defibrillators, electro surgical units, digital thermometers, digital scales, sterilizers, surgical lights, beds, stretchers, nurse call, various CSP and lab equipment. 

Takes the appropriate action to accomplish tasks as directed, such as receiving, inspection, and test of new equipment; selection of appropriate replacement parts and sources; accurately documents activities and related information on work order forms, and so forth.

1. Associate's degree in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology. OR

2. Associate's degree in Electronics and/or military experience and two or more years of experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of medical equipment in a hospital setting.
