Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, generating high-volume invoices in a timely manner, ensuring customers are billed accurately, and analyzing billing data to support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of billing processes and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate, issue, and distribute accurate customer invoices on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize billing records and supporting documentation
  • Respond to customer inquiries and explain billing discrepancies in a professional and timely manner
  • Research, resolve, and document billing discrepancies and disputes
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing data is accurate and complete
  • Review and process new and existing leasing and rental contracts
  • Maintain and update customer billing information in the system
  • Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Prepare regular billing reports for internal review
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong understanding of billing processes and accounts receivable principles
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues efficiently
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines

Education & Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience will also be considered
  • Four or more years of experience as a Billing Analyst or in a similar accounting role
  • Automotive or trucking industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
