Job description

Connected Home Health and is a Medicare-certified agency serving seeking someone just as passionate as we are about providing quality patient services to join our team with the billing staff.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Post all personal, insurance and liability payments from Remittance and EOBs to appropriate accounts with minimum errors.

Apply manual payments and auto payments to accounts for payor types of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurances

Analyze EOB information, including co-pays, deductible, co-insurance, contractual adjustments, denials and more to very accuracy of patient balances.

Reading and interpreting remittance advice

Investigate the source of unidentified payments to ensure they are applied to appropriate accounts. If necessary, will contact the sender to clarify where the payment should be posted

Assist in performing comparison of downloaded files to the Direct Deposit and correct any discrepancies

Assist in setting up Electronic Remittance Advices (ERA) for Commercial and Medicare payors

Maintain accurate records of billing activities and update patient accounts as needed

Contact patients, insurance or third-party administrators when clarification of information is needed to successfully post payment

Research inquiries in a professional and courteous manner and work with Accounts Receivable team members, to identify and resolve escalated customer concerns in a timely manner

Reconcile cash log daily and resolve variances

Collaborate with the billing team to improve billing processes and efficiency

Team-oriented tasks that including assisting co-workers when needed, reaching team goals, meeting deadlines, and being an overall team player

Maintains confidentiality of and compliance with all company and patient information in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, HIPPA regulations and Company policies.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or additional documentation

Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of payor contracts and ensures that payors are billed according to contract provisions. Represents and acts on behalf of agency in resolving conflicts with payers.

Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of government billing regulations including Medicare and Medicaid regulations and serves as a resource for agency personnel.

Assist in training a new hire in Authorization and filling in with Authorization when necessary

Job Requirements?

Experience in health care billing and collections preferably in home health and/or hospice operations, preferred.

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.

Demonstrated capability to accurately manage detailed information.

Able to work tactfully and collaboratively with colleagues, peers, referral sources and payers.

Demonstrates ingenuity, autonomy, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
