Billing Specialist (Full-Time | Remote)

Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM

Weโ€™re seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team in a fully remote role. This position plays a vital part in ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and a positive financial experience for our patients. If you enjoy working independently while collaborating with a supportive team, this could be a great fit. Pay will be based on experience.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed
  • Submit claims to insurance payors and patient invoices for co-pays and deductibles
  • Translate medical procedures into accurate billing codes
  • Post and reconcile payments, refunds, and overpayments
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready billing records and documentation
  • Balance daily batches and prepare billing and income reports
  • Collaborate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing questions
  • Assist patients with financial hardship processes when needed
  • Support compliance, quality initiatives, and ongoing process improvements

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent; billing/coding certification required
  • At least 1 year of experience in medical billing or a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of ICD coding and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with billing laws, regulations, and reimbursement processes
