What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a billing and coding specialist?

To thrive as a Billing and Coding Specialist, you need a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (like ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and healthcare reimbursement processes, often supported by a certification such as CPC or CCS.
