Associate Creative Director, US Hispanic Market
  • Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid, 3 days a week)
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Max Hourly Rate: $103.44/hour
  • Pay Comments: W2, weekly pay, benefits, 401k w/ match
  • Background screening required

As the Associate Creative Director for the US Hispanic Market, you will lead the localization of our client's US creative work from English into Spanish. This role represents a true 50/50 split between hands-on, high-volume copy execution and creative team leadership. You will be responsible for actively writing, editing, and localizing heavy volumes of copy (up to 30,000 words monthly) while simultaneously overseeing all work produced by a freelance writing network, in partnership with internal creative teams.
You will guide the launch of products and services for US Hispanic audiences, ensuring our client speaks with one consistent brand voice while perfectly accounting for regional variations and demographics. As opportunities arise, you may also write original copy for local USH marketing initiatives from scratch, partnering closely with Creative Directors to build work across retail, digital environments, and web.
We are looking for a deeply bicultural and bilingual creative who understands the subtle nuances, diverse backgrounds, and acculturation levels within the US Hispanic community. Coming from a solid copywriting background, you must ensure that product narratives authentically resonate across distinct demographics (Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Colombian, etc.) without relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Creative Execution & Leadership: Act as both a lead writer and a creative guide. Provide clear direction to a team of writers and editors while rolling up your sleeves to handle complex copy execution yourself.
  • High-Volume Writing: Craft clear, compelling, and culturally precise localized copy across all platforms under tight deadlines, maintaining a consistent brand style and tone of voice.
  • Cultural Strategy: Act as the primary reference point for US Hispanic culture within the creative department. Ensure work reflects an authentic understanding of diverse market segments, from Gen Z bilinguals to Spanish-dominant households.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Creative Leads, Brand, and Strategy teams to shape high-quality, highly collaborative creative work.
  • Quality Control & Tool Management: Adapt to a process-driven environment by leveraging proprietary translation tools, translation memories, and digital workflow systems to maintain meticulous quality control and consistency.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: 10+ years of copywriting experience within an advertising agency or brand-side creative team.
  • The Agency-to-Brand Shift: Proven ability to transition from traditional agency setups (concept-only) to a high-volume, execution-focused brand environment. You must be comfortable actively writing and reviewing massive amounts of copy rather than just managing ideas.
  • US Hispanic Market Expertise: Deep, lived understanding of the US Hispanic demographic, including nuanced linguistic differences across various countries of origin and acculturation levels.
  • Language Skills: Exceptional bilingual and bicultural proficiency, with absolute fluency in both Spanish and English.
  • Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating strong, copy-driven creative work and localization expertise.
  • Technical Adaptability: Proficiency in, or a strong willingness to learn, proprietary internal localization workflows, computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, and headline approval systems.
  • Peak Launch Flexibility (Mandatory): Ability to work fully on-site 5 to 6 days a week for 3 to 4 consecutive weeks at a time during critical, confidential product launch windows (at least twice per year). For remote hires, this will require temporary travel and relocation to the local office for the duration of these peak cycles.
