Job Description
The incumbent in this positon is responsible for the design and maintenance of complex paper and digital information systems for the Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual supervises and maintains Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), database management systems and related software (SQL Server and PowerBI), including statistical and graphical packages and web pages as appropriate. The incumbent has the responsibility for technical aspects related to the design of information systems; procurement of hardware, software, and technical services; systems maintenance; systems documentation; and training of personnel. Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Geography, Management Information Systems or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the design and analysis of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with at least three (3) years of experience managing geodatabases and systems, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing a team is required. Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary teams in complex solution delivery engagements preferred. Knowledge and understanding of GIS/GPS database and principles, database, cartographic, geographic, statistical and mathematical theory sufficient to perform geographic analyses is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing computer software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
