POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Key activities will be:

Developing data analytics, data mining and reporting solutions using Teradata Aster and Hortonworks Hadoop.

Working on projects that provide real-time and historical analysis, decision support, predictive analytics, and reporting services.

Leveraging Aster/Hadoop and SQL data platforms, data mining, visualization and machine learning.

Design, development, and support delivery of solutions on Hadoop and Aster Big Data platforms.

Work in a fast-paced agile development environment to quickly analyze, develop, and test potential use cases for the business.

Take valid use cases from ideation through development to production.

Write efficient code to extract, transform, load, and query very large datasets, including unstructured data.

Develop standards and new design patterns for Big Data applications.

Understand MapReduce concepts and master the tools and technology components within the Hadoop and Aster environments.

Help formulate use cases from potentially ambiguous business requirements.

Provide timely communication to business partners on use cases and project status.

Mentor and assist users in accessing the data.

Contribute significantly toward developing a roadmap for Big Data within the existing data warehousing architecture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent degree.

1-5 Years' Experience

Programming skills & experience in Java, C++, R, Perl, or Python

Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple deliverables.

Strong communication skills.

Work with company confidential information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Teradata database and Aster/Hadoop experience.

MS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent degree.
