Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Drive identification of requirements across business units and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data. Serve as thought leader for technical business processes developing forward-thinking systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Power BI development (5-10+ years)
  • Expertise in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query Editor. (Must Have)
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL queries, and data modeling concepts. (Must Have)
  • Ability to handle complex datasets and transform data into meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication skills for business requirement gathering and presenting insights.
  • Experience in handling structured and unstructured data across multiple systems.
  • Preferably certifications such as Microsoft Power BI Certification or equivalent.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement precise management plans for every project with attention to transparent communication at all levels
  • Perform evaluate and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development
  • Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production to ensure maximum usability
  • Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e. sales finance security compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way communicating effectively and efficiently with production managerial and executive teams
  • Evaluate analyze and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis and maintain systems processes including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties
  • Author and update internal and external documentation and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
  • Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems
  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations

Qualifications:

  • Technical Degree or related work experience
  • Proven experience in an analytics and systems development capacity
  • High proficiency with SQL language and database management
  • Proven analytical abilities
  • Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Experience working with Business Objects.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1.  Power BI Development: Create, manage, and enhance visually compelling, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports.
  2. Data Integration: Connect to multiple data sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, cloud solutions), clean and transform data, and ensure accuracy and integrity across all reports.
  3. Data Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of operational or business metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  4. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and effectively translate them into dashboard designs or analytical solutions.
  5. Tool Optimization: Continuously optimize Power BI solutions for performance, usability, and scalability.
  6. Training & Support: Provide training and best practices to internal team members to enhance adoption of Power BI tools and data-driven decision-making.
  7. Innovative BI Solutions: Leverage advanced Power BI features (e.g., DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service) to design innovative dashboards and storytelling formats.
  8. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain proper documentation for data processes, calculations, and report maintenance, ensuring alignment with company standards or regulatory requirements.
