Job description

The BHP III- Residential assumes the role of overseeing the day-to-day management of the individual shifts. As a BHP III- Residential , the expectation remains the same as a BHP II- Residential in terms of providing intensive supervision and direction to emotionally and behaviorally challenged clients in a compassionate and respectful manner. The position requires an unwavering commitment to safety and the ability to continuously assess and manage the ongoing developments and concerns of the clients in our care. The BHP III- Residential is responsible to implement individualized treatment and milieu programming, in the context of trusting and supportive relationships with clients. The BHP III- Residential assists program leadership with ongoing coaching and mentoring of the full-time and relief Behavioral Health Professionals - Residential in milieu management, adolescent behavior, safety, and crisis intervention and de-escalation.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma, Associate's Degree (60 credits), Bachelor's Degree (90+ credits).
  2. Some experience with acute emotionally challenged clients preferred.
  3. If working in ASD program, experience serving ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) population is preferred.

Job Duties:

  1. Safety: Ensure a safe and secure environment. Act immediately to remove all dangers or threats to the welfare of clients.
  2. Supervision: Supervise clients. Oversee daily routines; know the whereabouts of all clients in care; ensure performance of daily self care tasks and assist clients as needed. Provide minor first aid treatment as necessary.
  3. Counseling: Provide individual counseling as well as facilitate therapeutic groups if requested/needed.
  4. Treatment planning and assessment: Participate in the planning and implementation of individualized treatment plans as well as daily treatment schedules in accordance with House/Module programming.
  5. Communication: Communicate all relevant client information obtained by daily supervision to appropriate treatment team members on a timely basis; provide quality customer service with families, licensing bodies, and outside agencies; effectively demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills across disciplines.
  6. Collaboration: Demonstrate continued active participation in at least one KP workgroup, task force, provide trainings, etc; attend, participate and lead, as necessary, program leadership meetings
  7. Proficiency: Assigned rotation of On-Grounds Supervisor role on regular basis; demonstrate advanced knowledge of the Rights of Recipients
  8. Participation: Continued active participation during Clinical Supervision
  9. Adherence: Understands and abides by the Absenteeism Policy
