Job description

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, the Supervisor, Food and Beverage is responsible for the efficient scheduling and oversight of subordinate employees with the purpose of improving the quantity and quality of work done continuously and ensuring efficient and economical work operations. This roles functions include a range of duties and responsibilities involving planning, organizing, and dealing effectively with employee management concerns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists with day-to-day operation of the Food and Beverage venues by ensuring the team delivers a best-in-class service to all guests while always following Enterprise service standards. Prioritizes the training and understanding of all line-level positions to ensure they can maintain and elevate our brand standards to the highest level while increasing overall guest satisfaction.
2. Collaborates with venue leadership to develop and execute department initiatives that build sales, profitability, and cost control. Ensure the communication and execution of department-wide fiscal and operational goals.
3. Meets and maintains all safety and health requirements according to applicable codes, tracks the completion of required department-wide training, and ensures food is served in a healthy, safe, and timely manner.
4. Determines materials, equipment, and facilities needed for efficient operations. Ensures the cleanliness, organization & preparedness of the immediate workspace & adjacent areas. Ensures safety and security standards are in place and followed.
5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree in hospitality management, food service, business, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant, customer service or related experience required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are preferred.
  • Must possess strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with and motivate others.
  • Must be able to delegate, multi-task, lead, and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act consistently with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues.
  • Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
  • Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s).

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe certification.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver's license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in a Casino & Resort setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
