Since its launch in 2003, Better World Books has raised over $34 million for libraries and literacy, has sold over 100 million books, has donated over 35 million books, and has reused or recycled more than 450 million books. BWB is now owned by Better World Libraries, a mission-aligned, not-for-profit organization that is affiliated with longtime partner, the Internet Archive. This groundbreaking partnership allows both organizations to pursue their collective mission of making knowledge universally accessible to readers everywhere.
Warehouse Associate I
This position will be responsible for performing tasks related to warehouse inventory. This includes, but is not limited to, processing incoming inventory, shelving processed inventory, shipping orders from inventory, and performing routine inventory maintenance functions.
Job Summary
Essential Functions
  • Has the ability to use a computer, tablet, scan gun, and various inventory management programs.
  • Has the ability to focus on a single task for extended periods of time.
  • Consistently exhibits a favorable BPH rate or other performance indicia for at least one (1) department.
  • Meets departmental KPIs.
  • Can use a pallet jack, baler, box cutter, conveyors, and other tools in a safe manner.
  • Can use a computer to check email and utilize the internet.
  • Has the ability to stand on feet for 8-10 hours at a time.
  • Has the ability to safely climb step stools and ladders.
  • Has ability to consistently lift 50 lbs. throughout the shift, including reaching, stooping, and bending.
  • Maintains a clean workplace.
  • Accepts additional tasks as assigned and duties as requested.
  • Demonstrates other skills deemed valuable by leadership in furtherance of company goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Has a strong work ethic and sense of initiative.
  • Has the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• One (1) year continuous work history preferred.

  • Employee maintains satisfactory attendance record.
