Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java, Python, Spring Boot, and AWS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements aligned with the Payer domain
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations to enable seamless system communication
• Implement best practices for security, reliability, and performance optimization
• Conduct testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and domain standards
• Stay current with evolving technologies and leverage them to enhance development practices
• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
Technical Skills
• Requires 8+ years of total experience
• Strong hands on experience in Java (Java 8 & Java 11) and Python for enterprise backend development
• Expertise in building microservices using Spring Boot
• Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and Cloud native application development
• Experience working with Aurora PostgreSQL / PostgreSQL databases
• Strong experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and system integrations
• Proficiency in secure coding standards, performance tuning, and debugging
Domain Skills
• Strong domain experience in Healthcare - Payer
• Good understanding of Payer workflows, data flows, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to align technical solutions with healthcare business needs
Conceptual & Enterprise Skills
• Strong understanding of backend system design, scalability, high availability, and microservices architecture
• Ability to translate business and domain requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications
Technical / Domain Skills
• Exposure to JavaScript for frontend or service side integrations
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with industry compliance standards within the Payer domain
• Cloud certifications or prior experience in regulated healthcare environments are a plus
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 $ to 141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
