Grow Food. Grow Community. Grow Something Meaningful.

Are you passionate about agriculture, working with your hands, and building a healthier, more sustainable community?

Living City Farms is looking for an Assistant Farm Manager to join our team and help grow a mission-driven, community-oriented, and economically regenerative farm.

This is a hands-on position where no two days are exactly alike. You’ll work alongside the Farm Manager to grow crops, manage nursery operations, harvest and prepare produce, maintain farm infrastructure, and help develop efficient systems that allow the farm to grow.

If you enjoy being outdoors, solving problems, learning new things, and seeing the results of your hard work, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You'll Do???? Farm & Field Production
  • Assist with daily farm planning and task execution.
  • Prepare growing beds and assist with transplanting and direct seeding.
  • Weed, fertilize, provide foliar feeding, and assist with pest control.
  • Install and remove row covers, insect netting, and silage tarps.
  • Manage irrigation systems.
  • Operate farm equipment, including a Bobcat compact tractor.
  • Help develop and improve regenerative farming systems and practices.
???? Plant Nursery
  • Seed vegetable flats according to the farm's crop plan.
  • Set up and maintain automatic irrigation systems.
  • Monitor transplant health and determine when plants are ready for the field.
  • Properly harden off transplants before planting.
  • Keep nursery areas organized and maintain accurate records using Tend farm management software.
  • Help develop nursery best practices and standard operating procedures.
???? Harvest & Post-Harvest
  • Harvest fresh produce multiple times each week based on crop availability and sales.
  • Collect harvest data and maintain records in Tend.
  • Help design and improve the wash and pack station.
  • Properly wash, sort, grade, store, and pack produce for sale.
  • Follow food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Help develop efficient post-harvest procedures and SOPs.
???? Farm Maintenance & Development
  • Help install season-extension infrastructure.
  • Build and develop new growing areas.
  • Plant trees and perennial crops.
  • Assist with general farm maintenance, including occasional mowing and weed whacking.
  • Help identify problems and develop creative solutions to improve farm operations.
???? Community & Customer Engagement
  • Assist with produce deliveries and build positive customer relationships.
  • Participate in farm tours, workshops, and community events.
  • Represent Living City Farms professionally in public settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Good Place Holdings team.
???? Why Living City Farms?

We believe businesses can be economically sustainable while also caring for people, communities, and the environment. Our work focuses on encouraging people to reach their potential, building better communities, and practicing economically regenerative principles.

What We're Looking ForRequired
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Previous experience in agriculture, farming, regenerative agriculture, or general farm maintenance.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.
The Right Person Will Be
  • Passionate about agriculture and caring for the earth.
  • Interested in learning and practicing regenerative agriculture.
  • A strong problem solver who can think creatively and adapt.

  • Comfortable speaking with customers and the community.
  • Comfortable leading or participating in farm tours, workshops, and community events.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.

You don't need to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone who is willing to learn, grow, and contribute to the continued development of Living City Farms.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on, outdoor position. You'll spend much of your time working in the field and will experience varying temperatures and weather conditions.

You should be able to:
