Position Description:
As a Senior Asset Manager on FlexGen's Lifecycle Solutions team, you will play a key role in overseeing and
optimizing the availability and performance of battery energy storage systems (BESS) under long-term
service agreements (LTSA). This role blends technical expertise with asset management responsibilities,
ensuring energy storage assets operate reliably, efficiently, and profitably for FlexGen's customers.
You will collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, and customers to monitor performance, coordinate
maintenance, resolve issues, and continuously improve system availability. The ideal candidate will have
a strong background in asset management, BESS technologies, and technical operations, with a passion
for delivering high-quality service and driving customer satisfaction.
Major Job Responsibilities:
1. Lifecycle Management:
  • Oversee the post-commissioning lifecycle of BESS assets, ensuring all LTSA requirements are met
  • Ensure battery storage systems are operating optimally by collaborating with OEMs, internal teams, and field personnel to resolve hardware and software issues
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and field services to minimize downtime and maximize system availability
  • Coordinate software updates and configuration changes with internal software teams and customers
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance plans to enhance asset longevity and reliability.
  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, coordinating with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement and availability
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, standard work, RCCA) to streamline maintenance workflows, eliminate waste, and enhance overall asset performance and customer satisfaction

2. Asset Performance Optimization:
  • Drive uptime, availability, and performance for customer energy storage assets
  • Collaborate with Performance Engineering to analyze system data, identify performance trends, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Proactively monitor high-priority issues, ensure timely resolution and minimizing customer impact

3. Customer and Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer asset performance, providing regular updates on availability, maintenance schedules, and issue resolution
  • Build strong customer relationships through transparency, dependability, and responsiveness
  • Coordinate outages, maintenance, and site access with customers and field teams to minimize disruptions
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, supply chain, and field service teams to manage warranty claims, align on issue resolution, and recover costs, while driving improvements in asset reliability and customer support

4. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed asset management records, including maintenance activities, key performance indicators (KPIs), and system health reports
  • Leverage CMMS and Salesforce to track site issues, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to customers
  • Monitor and manage maintenance-related costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
  • Support internal and customer-facing performance reviews by providing data-driven insights

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in asset management, operations, or technical services, preferably in BESS, renewable energy, or power systems
  • Strong understanding of BESS technology, energy storage systems, and grid operations
  • Utilize AI-driven tools and workflows to streamline processes, automate tasks, and improve overall performance
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce or other CMMS software for issue tracking and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret system data and drive performance improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority issues concurrently and deliver results under pressure
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
