Job description

Appleton, United States | Posted on 05/11/2026

Join a premier industrial equipment manufacturer as an Operations Manager, leading the production of high‑precision systems. You will serve as the strategic bridge between engineering and production, driving operational excellence in a high‑mix, low‑volume job shop environment. This role is designed for a technically‑minded leader who thrives on building scalable systems while maintaining a strong, hands‑on presence on the manufacturing floor.

  • Lead Daily Operations: Drive performance across safety, quality, and efficiency while managing production schedules and resource allocation.
  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Develop and refine process routings, labor standards, and work instructions to ensure consistency and throughput.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping, to eliminate waste.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish and monitor KPIs related to utilization, delivery, and quality to drive data‑based decision‑making.
  • Team Development: Coach and mentor production staff and supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination: Partner with Sales and Engineering to ensure manufacturing capabilities align with complex customer requirements.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, specifically within High‑Mix/Low‑Volume or Job Shop environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Credentials: Lean Six Sigma or formal Continuous Improvement (CI) training is highly desirable.
  • Software/Tools: Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced production planning tools is required.
  • Technical Standards: Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in "engineered‑to‑order" manufacturing and solving technical production problems in real‑time.

Experience a culture that balances professional rigor with a family‑focused environment. We offer a competitive salary, performance‑based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans. This is a unique opportunity to lead a growing operation where your contributions directly impact the company’s trajectory and technological advancement.
