Job description

Job Type
Full-time
Description
LHD Benefit Advisors is looking for a Benefit Systems Analyst who understands that a system is only as valuable as how it is used. This role sits at the intersection of benefits strategy and technology, supporting the design, build, and ongoing optimization of benefits administration platforms including PlanSource and Employee Navigator. This is not a purely technical role. The right candidate brings a strong foundation in employee benefits and pairs it with the ability to think critically about how systems can be configured, adapted, and pushed to better support clients.
Why LHD
  • Recognized as a Best Place to Work for 11 consecutive years
  • Work that goes beyond system maintenance. This role is about translating benefit strategy into real, functional system outcomes
  • Opportunity to build expertise in both benefits and technology, without being siloed into a purely IT or administrative role
  • A team that values problem solving and ownership, where individuals are expected to challenge limitations and find better ways to make systems work
  • An environment that supports long-term growth, whether that leads to deeper technical specialization or more consultative work

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support benefit system builds and renewals in PlanSource and Employee Navigator
  • Translate plan design into functional system configurations that actually work in practice
  • Troubleshoot system issues and identify root causes, not just surface-level fixes
  • Pull, analyze, and validate data to support account teams and client needs
  • Manage implementation timelines and ensure accuracy ahead of go-live deadlines
  • Support ACA reporting and ongoing system administration
  • Partner with Account Managers to align system functionality with client strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, and overall system performance
  • Stay current on benefits trends, compliance requirements, and platform capabilities

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in employee benefits, ideally within a brokerage, consulting firm, or benefits administration environment.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience building or maintaining benefit plans in PlanSource, Employee Navigator, or a similar platform, including eligibility rules, plan structures, and carrier integrations)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate benefit plan design into system configuration, including eligibility rules, deductions, and coverage structures.
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and resolving discrepancies between intended plan design and actual system behavior.
  • Comfort working with data, including running reports, validating outputs, and identifying inconsistencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple builds, deadlines, and competing priorities, especially during implementation and renewal cycles.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain system behavior in practical, non-technical terms.
  • Life & Health license, or ability to obtain within one year

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary will be between $80,000 - $90,000, but is dependent upon experience.
