What are the big 4 internships?

The 'Big 4' internships typically refer to internship programs offered by the four largest accounting firms: Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG. These internships provide experience in accounting, auditing, consulting, and advisory services and are highly competitive for students pursuing careers in finance and accounting, including those interested in roles like behavioral therapist interns who may seek related skills or experience in organizational settings.

How much do LPC interns make?

Behavioral Therapist Interns, including those pursuing Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure, typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour depending on location, experience, and employer. Interns often work part-time or supervised roles while completing required clinical hours for licensure.

What is a BCBA intern?

A BCBA intern is a person working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to gain practical experience in applied behavior analysis. This internship typically involves observing, implementing, and tracking behavioral interventions, and often requires completing specific supervision hours for certification eligibility.

What types of supervision and mentorship can a Behavioral Therapist Intern expect during their internship?

As a Behavioral Therapist Intern, you will typically be paired with a licensed supervisor who oversees your caseload and provides regular feedback on your clinical skills. Supervision often includes weekly meetings, reviewing session notes, and discussing intervention strategies. Many programs also encourage shadowing experienced therapists and participating in team meetings to foster collaboration and professional growth. This supportive structure is designed to help interns develop confidence and competence while ensuring clients receive high-quality care.

What does a Behavioral Therapist Intern do?

A Behavioral Therapist Intern assists licensed behavioral therapists in providing therapy to individuals with behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges. Their responsibilities often include observing therapy sessions, supporting clients under supervision, helping develop treatment plans, and documenting client progress. Interns typically work with children or adults diagnosed with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or anxiety disorders. This role allows interns to gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, and fulfill requirements for professional certification or licensure.

Can an intern be a therapist?

A Behavioral Therapist Intern is typically in training and does not have the full licensure required to independently provide therapy. Interns often work under supervision and may assist with therapy sessions, but they cannot legally practice as licensed therapists until they complete their education, training, and licensing requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Behavioral Therapist Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Behavioral Therapist Intern, you need a foundational knowledge of psychology or counseling principles, typically supported by enrollment in or completion of a relevant degree program. Familiarity with behavior analysis software, data collection tools, and an understanding of therapeutic modalities such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are often required. Strong communication, empathy, and patience are essential soft skills for building rapport and effectively supporting clients. These skills and qualifications are crucial for delivering effective interventions and fostering positive client outcomes in clinical or educational settings.
