Behavioral Aides
Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Location: Bellflower, California; Onsite
Position Summary
As a Behavioral Aide, you will provide behavioral and classroom support services to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs within a school-based setting. This role works closely with special education teams, teachers, and school staff to implement individualized behavioral strategies that promote student success academically, socially, and emotionally. Behavioral Interventionists and professionals with ABA experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday-Friday
  • Hours per week: Full time
  • Contract length: School-based assignment
Key Duties
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral support across general and special education settings
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the direction of behavior specialists and classroom staff
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and self-regulation skills using evidence-based behavioral strategies
  • Assist students during classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate behavioral data to monitor student progress
  • Utilize ABA-based strategies including reinforcement, prompting, and fading techniques
  • Support crisis prevention and intervention efforts using de-escalation techniques when necessary
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavior teams, school psychologists, and families to support student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings, trainings, and additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with district, state, and federal regulations
Requirements
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required: Two years of paid or verifiable volunteer experience providing behavior-related services
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Ability to pass background check and meet district hiring requirements
Skills
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in high-stress situations
  • Ability to support students with toileting, diapering, lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance as needed
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and school environments
