Job description

Behavior Assistant
Major Function
Responsible for assisting in the organizing and implementing of academic and behavior programs under the supervision of the Behavior Specialist and/or administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assisting the teacher(s) with maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
  • Assist with observing, collecting, and reporting student academic and behavioral data.
  • Assist with the implementation of a functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plan.
  • Assist with the design of an academic program based on the assessed needs of students.
  • Implement reinforcement schedules as established in the behavior intervention plan.
  • Provide all levels of crisis intervention as necessary throughout the campus
  • Participate in trainings to remain current on techniques and services related to crisis prevention/intervention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

School Expectations: All employees are expected to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; to support Pepin Academies' vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan; to engage in civility, respect, and professionalism; and to maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
Trained in Pepin Academies approved positive behavioral strategies used to prevent or de-escalate behavior, or an agreement to complete the training within a designated timeframe and renew annually
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree
Experience in like position or with students with disabilities.
Training in approved positive behavioral strategies (e.g., CPI).
Satisfactory completion of American Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses.
Demonstrated proficiency on the ParaPro Assessment Test.
Pay Range: $16.18 - $18.87 per hour
