Job description

Assignment Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated School Aide to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students within a school setting in Beloit, WI. Under the direction of the Special Education Department, classroom teacher, and/or designated supervisor, the School Aide assists students in achieving educational goals while helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

This role may also involve supporting students with personal care, mobility, and therapeutic needs as outlined by educational and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to students requiring instructional assistance.
  • Assist students with behavioral management and implementation of support plans.
  • Support students with daily activities, personal care, and mobility needs when required.
  • Reinforce teacher-directed lessons and classroom expectations.
  • Promote student engagement, independence, and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other school personnel.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.


Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulations).
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
