Registered Nurse - Pediatric Psychiatric Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 or 48 hours per week, Day/Eve/Night rotation, weekends, holidays, and on-call as per unit need.

Job Description

Join our team in a specialized child and adolescent unit dedicated to providing care for patients aged 5-18 years who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. We are looking for candidates with a passion for pediatric psychiatry. The unit emphasizes stabilization through a variety of group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, along with psychopharmacological interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals.
  • Provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care to patients.
  • Facilitate and participate in group therapy sessions.
  • Administer psychopharmacological interventions as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • NYS RN License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric mental health experience.
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association only).
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPI blue card.
  • Experience in a large, academic medical center.
