Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych / Behavioral Health
Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility / Harper Center
13-Week Contract | ? 8-Hour Shifts (Evenings or Nights)


Overview:
We are seeking experienced Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading behavioral health facility in Alabama. This is a great opportunity for nurses who thrive in structured, team-based environments and are confident managing complex patient behaviors.


Shift Details:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Evening (typically 3p–11p) or Night (11p–7a)
  • 5 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Conduct patient assessments, monitor mental status, and document changes
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
  • Implement and support individualized care plans and behavioral interventions
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including de-escalation when needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (psychiatrists, therapists, social workers)
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (AL or compact)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent psych/behavioral health experience
  • Experience with acute psych, forensic, or inpatient behavioral health strongly preferred
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • CPI or de-escalation training preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication and crisis management skills
