This is a 13-week contract position.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and identify available resources for patients across various psychiatric conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced emergency psychiatric setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Manage stress appropriately while making decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and availability for coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing.
  • 2-Year Associates degree in nursing required.
  • Valid State of Maine RN license.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • CPI training must be current prior to start.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
