Job description

Responsibilities

University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Ensures the communication and customer service operation of the hospital is provided timely and effectively at all times and provides professional customer relations to a patient population of ages 5-65+. Answers questions and gives information in person or over the telephone, based on knowledge of the hospital and regulations.  

This is a PT position: Sat-Sun 8am-5pm.  Tranining for this position requires the selected applicant to be available for two weeks.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Operates telephone to relay incoming, outgoing, interoffice, and message center calls.
  • Facilitates the implementation of security procedures by screening and directing visitors and patients as they enter the building.
  • Ensures the safety of patients, staff, and visitors in the event of an incident or emergency.
  • Acts as information clerk.
  • Performs responsible clerical tasks under general supervision using knowledge of office procedures and hospital regulations.
  • Maintains on-call lists for Administration, Doctors, PRN Pool, Pharmacy, Maintenance and others as necessary. 
  • Maintain confidentially procedures for vendors and visitor.
  • Trains other personnel in performing relief telephone functions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience:  Two years in a health care setting as a receptionist

Education:  High School Diploma
