Job description

Inova Behavioral Health Central Access is looking for a dedicated Manager of Behavioral Health Central Access to join the team. This role will be Full-Time, Day shift 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; with some evenings and weekends required.

The Manager of the Behavioral Health Ambulatory Program ensures compliance with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, Comprehensive Services Act contract requirements and The Joint Commission standards as they apply to hospital based programs and/or outpatient services. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic and prosocial treatment environment. Provides direct and indirect clinical supervision to outpatient counselors to enhance their individual counseling skills and the quality of services to patients. Handles team member relations and staff development for direct reports and develops goals and manages fiscal activities of the department.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees department to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members and delegating tasks. 
  • Implements, monitors and supervises an integrated model of service delivery. 
  • Participates in referral development and fundraising activities for Inova Health System's Behavioral Health programs and services. 
  • Partners with Business Operations Director for meeting budgeted revenue and expenses. 
  • Promotes a working environment wherein staff has an opportunity for input into decisions affecting their work and other areas of concern to them. 
  • Takes ownership of program development, program integrity, performance improvement processes, strategic planning and the overall clinical functions of the treatment programs. 
  • Serves as a consulting therapist while providing a range of treatment modalities and case management to achieve progress toward treatment goals and discharge dispositions. 
  • Assumes accountability for required on-call participation to uphold operational service levels across the health system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification - Basic Life Support - upon start Reasonably Anticipated 
  • Licensure - Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or licensed Psychologist upon start 
  • Experience - 5 Five years of experience post Master's degree in counseling and therapy with children, adolescents, adults and families 
  • Education - Masters Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work in a critical care, emergency services or with serious mental illnesses
  • 2-3 years of experience with leading teams
