Behavioral Health Technician

Location: Overland Park, KS
Full-Time | Monday - Friday

Join Our Growing Mental Health Team

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Behavioral Health Spravato Technician to join our mental health practice. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting patients receiving Spravato® (esketamine) treatment for depression and other mental health conditions. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with patients, thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment, and is passionate about improving patient outcomes.

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends, making it an excellent opportunity for someone seeking work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Friday: Flexible schedule based on weekly hours and patient needs
  • Unpaid lunch break (30 minutes to 1 hour)
  • Two paid 15-minute breaks

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $22-$30 per hour
  • Annual pay raises (discretionary)on anniversary date of hire + gift card

What You'll Do

Patient Care & Treatment Support

  • Educate patients about Spravato treatment during initial consultations.
  • Complete patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and prepare documentation for provider review.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment and identify potential adverse reactions.
  • Administer psychiatric rating scales and document outcomes.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and healing treatment environment.

Care Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Schedule, maintain, and adjust patient appointments.
  • Manage patient waitlists and coordinate treatment schedules.
  • Verify insurance benefits and investigate coverage issues.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and assist with appeals.
  • Prepare financial estimates and manage payment plans.
  • Coordinate with pharmacies regarding medication approvals and delivery.
  • Conduct chart reviews and maintain accurate electronic medical records.

Compliance & Clinic Operations

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Ensure REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies) compliance for Spravato.
  • Safely manage controlled medication inventory and storage requirements.
  • Keep treatment rooms organized and stocked with supplies.
  • Follow company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant, Medication Aide, Behavioral Health Technician experience
  • Strong computer skills and experience using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under supervision while collaborating with a multidisciplinary mental health team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
  • Prior authorization and insurance verification experience.
  • Mental health, behavioral health, psychiatry, or healthcare experience.
  • Experience working with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with ambulation when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain a safe treatment environment and respond appropriately to patient needs.
