Job Summary and Qualifications

RAs a Behavioral Health Technician, you will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), you will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PSA’s skills/training, the needs of the Department, and consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

  • What you will do in this role:

  • Observe patient behaviors, communicates and physical or behavioral changes to the care team while providing a safe environment
  • Appropriately responds to patient aggression or violence where appropriate.
  • Establishes effective relationships with client, family, co-workers, and supervisor.
  • Achieves professional goals set during previous evaluation period
  • Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct at all times
  • Demonstrates and maintains good employee/peer relationship and teamwork
  • Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills with patients, families, physicians and healthcare team.
  • Transports patients in a safe and timely manner using appropriate equipment for patient age and weight.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently perform technical skills and follow through with assignments
  • Prioritize work duties and works well under stressful situations
  • You will provide patient observation through rounding, under the direction and supervision of the licensed nursing staff.
What Qualifications you will need:

Required License/Certification


  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification. 
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (or equivalent training) within 3 months of hire.

Training and Experience

  • 1 year of experience with progressive responsibilities in the Behavioral Health Setting preferred
